How does contact work?
This site has no form that sends messages or files. The contact link opens Berkay Ceylan’s LinkedIn profile in a new tab, where you can send your message. The GitHub link leads to software work.
When you follow these links, that platform’s terms of use and data processing apply. This page makes no privacy promise on behalf of outside platforms.
A preference stored in your browser.
Your choice to pause or play motion is kept in your browser’s local storage under the name bc-motion, so it is remembered on your next visit. It is never sent to a server. You can remove it by clearing your browser’s data for this site.
Resources and measurement.
Fonts, images and site code load from this site’s own files. The pages contain no Google Analytics, no ad tracking code and no embedded outside videos or maps. The site’s code sets no cookies.
The hosting service may keep technical server logs for security and access. Having no tracking code in the browser does not mean that no records are kept at the hosting level.
About the images.
The only photo on the site is the 1839 Jacquard portrait from the Met’s public-domain collection. The loom at the top, the fabric swatches, the weave drafts, the punched cards, the warp and weft drawing, the thread that travels the page and the woven name in the footer are original images drawn in code. Atlas and Forma are independent design studies.
The gauge at the bottom.
The gauge at the bottom of the page has two buttons. “Back of the cloth” opens a view that shows how the page was made: typefaces, sizes and touch targets are labeled, and the gauge shows how long the page took to open, how many kilobytes were transferred and whether any requests went to other servers.
Your browser measures these values itself, only on your screen; they are never sent anywhere or stored.
